- Solution example: Manufacturer, London, UK. The business and the people are made up.
- Business: Ironside Fencing

## The problem

“Every quote is me with a calculator and a price list after a site visit. Then we agree dates by phone, and an installer turns up without the right materials list.”

## The solution

A quote builder where the surveyor enters the site measurements and picks panel and gate types; it works out materials and the price from the company's own price list and produces a quote document. Accepted quotes become jobs on a shared schedule. Installers get a checklist app on their phones for each job, with the address, the materials list and sign-off photos.

## Tools and AI used

Airtable holds the price list, quotes and jobs, Google Calendar carries the schedule, and Glide gives installers a simple phone app. Claude helps turn the company's price rules into formulas and checks the quote wording. The calculations are plain formulas the owner can read.

## What now works

A quote follows the same rules every time because the rules are in the tool, not in one person's head. Jobs have a date, a crew and a materials list, and installers carry a checklist instead of a message thread.

## Timeline, package and price

The installer app and the quote rules are custom work, so they are quoted after a discovery call and come with a maintenance plan. We start with the Get Organised package for the records and the schedule, then add the quote builder and the checklist. About six weeks.
